What Ninja Arcade is

Ninja Arcade is a small browser gaming site with two jobs: publish original ninja-themed arcade games that actually work, and explain how those games work well enough that you can get better at them.

Everything playable here was built for this site. The ten games share one engine written from scratch — a fixed-timestep loop, a canvas renderer, an input layer that treats a swipe and an arrow key as the same event, and a small Web Audio synth for the arcade blips. There are no embedded third-party games, no licensed content and no iframes pointing somewhere else.

Why the site exists

Browser game portals tend to be thin. They list hundreds of games nobody tested, with descriptions written from a title and a thumbnail. We would rather publish ten games we can stand behind and write about them honestly, including the parts that are hard.

The guides exist for the same reason. When a page here says a gap in Ninja Dash is capped at 62% of the jump arc, that number comes from the code that generates the gap, not from a guess.

How the games are made

  • One shared engine. Every game uses the same loop, input handling, state machine and score persistence, so controls behave consistently across the collection.
  • Fair generation. Procedural content is constrained by the character's actual movement limits. Obstacles that cannot be cleared are not possible to generate.
  • Tested on both. Each game is played on desktop and on a phone before it ships, because a control scheme that only works with a keyboard is only half finished.
  • No dark patterns. No fake timers, no forced ad views to continue, no pop-ups over the play area, and nothing that pretends to be a game button.

Editorial standards

Articles are written from hands-on testing. Where a claim involves an outside fact rather than something observable in our own games, it is either sourced or not published. We do not fabricate statistics, player counts, awards, ratings or reviews, and there are none anywhere on this site.

Two documents set out the detail: the editorial policy explains how content is produced, reviewed and corrected, and the fact-checking policy explains how claims are verified and how you can report an error.

How the site is funded

Ninja Arcade is free to use and is funded by advertising displayed around — never on top of — the games and articles. Advertising has no influence on editorial content. If a game or guide is recommended here, it is because it earned the recommendation.

Accessibility

Game instructions live in ordinary HTML beside the canvas rather than inside it, so a screen reader can read them. The site is keyboard navigable with a skip link and visible focus states, respects prefers-reduced-motion, and offers a light theme for anyone who finds the dark interface hard to read.

Contact

General questions, corrections, copyright enquiries and game feedback all go through the contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Who makes the games on Ninja Arcade?

Every game is built in-house for this site using HTML5 Canvas and vanilla JavaScript. No game here is licensed, embedded from another portal, or based on an existing title.

Does Ninja Arcade collect my data?

The site stores your theme, sound preference, favourites and high scores in your own browser using localStorage. That data never leaves your device. If advertising is enabled, advertising partners may set their own cookies — the cookie policy covers that.

Can I suggest a game or report a bug?

Yes, and bug reports are genuinely useful. Use the contact page and include the game name, your browser and what happened.
