Editorial Policy
How Ninja Arcade plans, writes, tests, reviews and corrects everything it publishes.
Last reviewed: 15 September 2026
This policy describes how content on Ninja Arcade is planned, written, reviewed, corrected and updated. It applies to every article, guide and game page on the site.
How content is created
- Topic selection. Topics come from questions players actually ask about the games here and from mechanics that are poorly explained elsewhere. We do not publish a page purely because a keyword exists.
- Hands-on testing. Before writing about a game, the writer plays it on a desktop browser and on a phone. Claims about difficulty, timing and controls come from that testing.
- Source reading. For mechanics, the relevant game source in
assets/js/is read so that numbers quoted in guides match the behaviour shipped. - Drafting. Drafts are written to answer one clear question. Padding to reach a word count is treated as a defect, not a goal.
- Review. Each draft is reviewed for accuracy, clarity, heading structure, internal links and whether the advice is actually actionable.
- Publication. Published pages record a publication date and an updated date.
Research standards
- Claims about our own games are verified against the game itself or its source code.
- Claims about the wider web platform — browser APIs, HTML5 Canvas behaviour, input handling — are checked against primary documentation rather than second-hand blog posts.
- We do not publish statistics we cannot source, and we do not estimate numbers and present them as measurements.
What we will not publish
- Invented statistics, player counts, download numbers or search volumes.
- Ratings, reviews or testimonials that were not genuinely given.
- Fabricated credentials, awards, certifications, employers or memberships.
- Claims that playing games produces medical, cognitive or psychological benefits.
- Content copied from another site, or descriptions of games we have not played.
- Thin pages written only to occupy a keyword.
Game testing
Every game is tested against a fixed checklist before release and after any change: the game loads without console errors; start, pause, restart and sound all work; keyboard and touch controls both respond; collision behaves as designed; score and high score persist; the game over state is reachable and recoverable; and the canvas renders correctly at mobile widths.
Procedural generation gets specific attention. Generators are constrained by the character's real movement limits so an unclearable obstacle cannot be produced, and those constraints are documented in the relevant guide.
Corrections
When an error is confirmed, the page is corrected promptly and its updated date changes. If the error materially changed the meaning of the page — a wrong control, a wrong number, an incorrect claim — a short correction note is added to the page itself rather than quietly edited away.
To report an error, use the contact form and select the correction topic. The fact-checking policy describes what happens next.
Content updates
Guides are reviewed whenever the game they describe changes, and periodically otherwise. Outdated pages are updated or removed rather than left to drift. Every page shows the date it was last reviewed.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of advertising. Advertisers have no input into which games are recommended, how they are described, or which topics are covered.
Advertising and sponsored content
- Advertising is clearly separated from content and is never placed where it could be mistaken for a game control or a navigation element.
- Ninja Arcade does not currently publish sponsored posts. If that changes, sponsored content
will be labelled clearly at the top of the page, and any commercial link will carry the
appropriate
relattribute. - Affiliate links, if ever used, will be disclosed on the page where they appear.
Use of AI tools
Drafting and editing tools may be used in production, but every published page is reviewed by a human editor who is responsible for its accuracy. No page is published unreviewed, and unverifiable AI-generated claims are not published at all.
Authorship
Content is attributed to a named editor with a public profile describing their background and areas of expertise. See the author page, which also states plainly that the profile is an editorial persona for site owners running this project.
